MODERN MATERIAL SCIENCE IS INCOMPLETE AND IGNORES AUTHENTIC WISDOM
Swami Nemi Bhaktivedanta
“The science of knowledge [as given in the Vedic wisdom literature] means to know the known, the knower, the knowable, and knowledge or knowing. In other words, the science of knowledge means we have to know what matter is. Material science, to some extent, gives us that. But we also have to have the knower who knows matter – who the conscious entity is who knows what matter is; who is getting knowledge. And then we have to understand what the process of knowledge is.
Material scientists can say nothing whatsoever about that, because they look outside; they reject the conscious subject who does science. They can’t say, from their own point of view, what science is. [Material scientists] say that anything beyond material science is supernatural, but material science [itself] is beyond material science. You can’t describe or measure material science. You can’t say what material science is physically; it’s not a physical thing.
Objective science can’t explain – it can’t look at itself like an object. So material science, from the point of view of material scientists, is supernatural – but they cut that out…terrible. Their process is so illogical, and the whole of modern material society is based on material science, and that’s why it’s all going to hell. It’s based on nonsense – it’s literally nonsense.”
